Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky has stated that if given an opportunity, Nigerians would pick an Islamic system of government over a system inherited from British colonial masters.
He made this claim in his first interview after release from state custody.
He said, “I believe that if there will be a plebiscite in this country and people will be asked ‘which system would you like?’ Is it the status quo, which is inherited from the British colonialists or the Islamic system?
