Political analyst, Kayode Ogundamisi has given reasons why the Federal Government and leaders of Bayelsa State need to cover their head in shame.
Ogundamisi stated this in reaction to pictures from polling units during the November 16 Bayelsa State gubernatorial election.
The pictures show people trying to cast their votes in horrible conditions.
Sharing the pictures on Twitter, Ogundamisi wrote:
“Politics aside.
All the political leaders from Bayelsa State and the Federal government should cover their heads in shame….
For people to come out and vote under this horrible conditions, it means they are filled with pain. A major oil producing state deserves better.
I hope the newly elected Governor will put the people first, continue to build his cross party coalitions to put the interest of the people of Bayelsa first before anything else.
The riverine nature of the State makes it extremely vulnerable, make the sacrifice worth it”.
